Chapter: Power

Wear a uniform. Tuck in the shirt. Wear a belt. Never forget your name tag. Closed toe shoes only. Clock in and out on time. Talk to people with respect. Understand the mission. Understand that you have superiors. Listen to your boss. Don't show up late without a good reason. Don't call out sick if it isn't important. What if I am actually sick? It's about teamwork. Who is apart of the team? Don't say things on social media. Don't post on social media. Don't talk about work outside of work. If you use your phone on the clock then you are in trouble. Greet your boss with a smile. Always carry yourself respectful outside of work. Don't hang around someone older than you, they don't have good intentions. This isn't a job but an investment. Then how come I only make minimum wage? You work hard, then you will be rewarded. Don't be a bad seed. Don't have a vision because you aren't really important you are just a little man. Don't work overtime because you aren't told to work overtime. Remember this is a job not an investment. Don't be an individual. Don't have tattoos. Don't stand out. Just do as you are told. And do it well! Remember to wear a watch. Mama always told me if you don't wear a watch, then you have a lot of wasted time. Be good enough for people to remember your name. I will be wearing a name tag, so won't they know my name?

Are you telling me that you aren't sure if you are good enough for people to remember your name? Is all that you have learned?

Just imagining and also thinking back to being in a place where you feel so controlled and weak because someone else is telling you constantly how you should move about life. The work place isn't the only place where someone has domain over your life, its a widespread of areas: home, school, friendships, money ... etc. In the words of Kanye West: " No one man should have all that power."

Colossians 3:23 | " Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." 

I've learned that there is so much power in a dollar sign. There is so much power in every dollar sign. The world is covered by $$$$$$$$. However, this world will consistently eat you up and chew you out when you let the wages and actual wages of sin work against you. As the years has passed in my love for the Lord swell into a deeper affection and adoration; I have learned that there is no power on this earth that is more powerful than my God Jesus Christ! There is no job that promises you a brighter future that is brighter than the throne of the Kingdom of Heaven. Amen!

Something to keep in mind: That the Lord is the ultimate master.


How can I let God be the only boss that has ultimate domain over my life? It's how we put our trust in him. God let me trust you because I want to serve you. Let me believe and know that all things that I have to achieve serving the worldly affliction will be worked out when I serve you dear Lord. For you called me to be your hands and feet of Christ! God is the one who will give us a higher promotion! A higher status that lies in heaven. Jesus I trust you because you are the same today, tomorrow, and forever!
