Spy Glass.

So this past summer I got the privilege to be apart of something bigger than myself. CAMP! Ahhh I could make a separate blog page dedicated to all things camp; however, this isn't what drives me everyday, Jesus does. Anyway so camp, I was the head counselor of Camp One (the best summer ever, best camp one ever!) and it was awesome because we themed our camp around the sea and sailing, it was called "Camp One Cruise Line," and a gift that we gave every camper of the week was spyglasses like those little telescopes. I thought it was pretty cool!

Spyglasses that we gave out to the campers were mini and you could see things out in the distance... kinda sorta. Well what an actual spyglass does is magnifies things in the distance. Like looking ahead... Jesus gives us this opportunity, to look forward to the life we have with him, to the the things he has planed for us.

You know sometimes when a spyglass gets blurry, you must turn it, or READJUST it to see things clearly. So what I mean from a spiritual perspective is that our vision of God gets blurry. We sometimes look to far ahead that we overlook the plans God has on our lives, instead look at the plans we put in place for ourselves. However, that will never work! You will always be wanting or searching for something more, each and every time, you will constantly be looking ahead. Here's the cool thing, when we realize that everything we look forward to is never fulfilling, never enough. We will realize that God is always enough. Well now you are thing.... How the heck am I going to realize that God is enough?

You must allow your eyes to READJUST, to behold his glory and to bear witness to the gospel! So do you remember the last time you read the Bible... I mean really read the Bible, or listened to a christian song? Do you remember thinking, "I'm not in the mood for this right now," his glory in your life is so hard to take in all at once, so we have the tendency to turn that station on the Pandora, or put down the Bible. That's what we must do with our faith sometimes, let our eyes readjust to the glory of good. Sometimes when things are going so well in your life you back away. We do this because God is brighter than anything else. And I don't mean shines brighter than everything, but his glory and presence in our life can be hard to take in sometimes. So we must adjust and acclimate ourselves to his glory.

"If you behold Jesus, you will not become less human but more. You will become meek. You will become courageous. You will become loving, joyful, peaceful.
                                                                                                     Matt Papa

I challenge you, pick up that Bible again, listen to a sermon on his glory, or listen to that Christian song one more time. And let your eyes READJUST, it may feel "not right" but in fact it is so so right to have the vision to see his glory. Behold the gospel, read the stories of how God saves, how he loves, how he strengthens the weak, and gives hope to the hopeless.
