Facing your fears
I won't rant about why I haven't been blogging, instead I will say what I have been doing.
I have been reaching out to others and letting the word of God be known. An awesome feeling when you can tell someone all the amazing things of our God.
However, today I blog about what it looks like to face your fears. A couple of days ago, my online course assigned an assignment on a very tough topic, something that has a lot of meaning behind it for myself. I remember coming back from the gym, pumped and then I get this mood-killing assignment due on the last day of class. First thing I did was cry because I didn't know how to handle it, I didn't understand why this topic seems to become a reoccurring topic in my life.
The bible says in Philippians 3:13-14 " forgetting what lies behind and reach toward what lies ahead, press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call God in Christ Jesus."
With that being said I never thought that something I leave behind me would keep following me in my future and my walk with Christ. The next thing I did after crying about it, I simply prayed about it with my mom and grandmother. Having people pray for me and over me, just reminds me that God is near I must simply call out to him. The irony of this all was days before the assignment was assigned to me, that same week at church we talked about fears defining our faith. God seems to do this awesome thing where he prepares you for what lays ahead in your life, we must simply listen for it.
When God whispers a promise in one ear, it is the enemy whispering fear in the other. You must chose who you want to listen to. I chose fear the other day, the only thing that fears does is create doubt in your mind and in your heart; we must let our faith conquer all fears because He is greater than all things.
So I don't just want to others, but I want to say to myself as well, facing our fears is simply walking with faith. Listening and believing that God's plans are greater than any attempt the enemy tries to create in our life. Don't look at something you don't believe you can do, but look at God. When you don't who call for, look at God. We must not allow our fears and doubt create disillusionment about the presence of God. God is here, just look at him!
