Test of obedience.
So in life we test things:
We test to see if people are lying.
We test our dogs to see if they will listen.
We test ourselves in general.
So who tests us?
God test our obedience to him.
When we hear the word Obey, we some time put negative connotations with the word. However, that is not what God expresses in his word. First, lets examine the word obey, to comply with or follow the commands, restrictions, wishes, or instructions of (dictionary.com). When I was looking up obey the first thing that jumped out to me was the synonym for the word: submission.
This is such a great meaning and understanding of the word, submission. Submitting ourselves to the Lord even when we do not understand what he is doing.
John 14:15 | "If you love me, you will obey what I command."
I wish I could of read this verse before this past weekend because I didn't understand anything that he was doing with me. Today, I realize it's not if I understand his work, its whether I trust in him. Test of obedience. Test of faith in him. God seems to test his followers in the most difficult times.
I thought I would finish this post off today with a prayer, not only for myself but for others as well.
Today, Lord we want to thank you for your love. Thank you for a new day that you provided. We ask you to humble us, so that we may surrender ourselves more to you. That we may be able to stand strong in the times of difficulty because we will know that you are preparing us for a test, a test of how much we love you, how much we trust you, and how we will obey you. God, you are such an awesome savior. You deserve more glory than we give you. We ask you to use us in ways we cannot use ourselves.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
